Nach mannigfachen Kreuz- und Querzügen durch die verschiedenen Grafschaften von Südwales, von Bristol bis Cardigan und von Aber-ystwyth bis Caerdiff, darf ich endlich nicht mehr zögern Ihnen versprochenderweise eine Reihe brieflicher Mittheilungen über Land und Menschen, über Sprache, Sitten und Geschichte, so wie über den gegenwärtigen religiös- und politisch-geselligen Zustands dieses in Deutschland bis jetzt nur sehr unvollkommen gekannten Theiles Großbritanniens zuzusenden und dem weitverbreitenden Organe Ihres Blattes einen schriftlichen Widerhall aller der Eindrücke und Erfahrungen anzuvertrauen, die es mir während eines neunmonatlichen für Leben und Beobachtung nicht unthätig gebliebenden Aufenthaltes in diesem Lande einzusammeln vergönnt war.
