Geschmackvoll fand ich, daß sämtliche Chaussee-Häuser so ganz im Charakter der Gegend gehalten waren; aus rohem röthlichen Bruchstein erbaut, mit Schiefer gedeckt, von einfacher, schwerer Architektur und mit eisernen Thoren versehn, deren Gitterwerk die sich kreuzenden Strahlen zweier Sonnen nachahmt. Der Postboy zeigte mir die Ueberreste eines alten Druidenschlosses, wohin, wie ich in meinem Buche nachlese, Caractacus nach seiner Niederlage bei Caer Caredoc retirirte. (von Pückler-Muskau 26)
