Zondag 2 Sept. — Het heeft den ganschen nacht hier, zoo als wij gelukkig eerst dezen morgen bij het opstaan hoorden, sterk gewaaid en geregend; doch omstreeks acht ure verscheen tot mijne blijdschap de liefelijke zon, die, geholpen door een frisch windje, spoedig alles opdroogde. Daarom durfden miss Georgina, miss Florence en de governess (mijn persoontje) het wagen, langs het meer naar eene kerk te wandelen, die men zeide dat op twee mijlen afstands van de stad gelegen was.
