Man vergleicht häufig die Bretagne mit Wales, jedoch ohne näher zu wissen, was das eine und was das andere Land ist. Sie sind im Allgemeinen wie im Besonderen sehr verschieden, denn in den meisten Landschaften von Wales, zumal in North-Wales, findet sich ein bedeutend starkes westgermanisches Element in der Bevölkerung.
